A few years ago, I started noticing that my friends had cute style, and I had none. Â I’ve always been a jeans & t-shirt kinda gal, and I’m totally ok with that. Â But now that I’m a mom, I don’t wanna be “that mom.” Â You know the one… wearing the same pair of yoga pants and slippers to pick up the kids for the fourth day in a row. Â I’ll be the first to admit that motherhood is tiring. Â But I’ve learned over time that when I feel good about the way I look, it gives me a little extra pep in my step.
The way I see it, it’s a win-win-win situation… I feel better about myself, my husband enjoys coming home and seeing a cuter me, and my boys learn that putting your best foot forward doesn’t have to take a lot of time or energy.
I’m not talking about the need to purchase the most popular name brands or most expensive clothing and jewels… I’m talking about thoughtfully choosing clothing and accessories that flatter my body, fit my personal style (can you say “comfort”?), and fit my budget. Â I’ve really enjoy getting inspiration from “What I Wore Wednesday” posts around the web (The Pleated Poppy is my favorite!).
Recently, Facebook has been offering deals from different vendors, and one that I have taken advantage of several times is from Caroline G. Â She offers fun pieces in great colors at totally reasonable prices. Â In fact, I like her stuff so much, I’ve just become a brand ambassador and I get my very own discount code… that I get to SHARE with YOU!!! Â Enter the code “megan” at checkout, and receive 15% off your order… as many times as you want! Â I repeat… this is not a one-time deal!
So far, my favorites are the 3-stone Bubble Necklace (I have a green one and a yellow one), and the Teardrop Necklace (I have it in white and blue/orange), and I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of some bubble earrings and a bubble necklace. Â Simple pops of color are a fun way to make it look like you’ve put a little effort into yourself for the day, and these pieces are a great way to help!
Check out the shop… spread the word… share the code! Â And stay tuned as new products will be hitting the shelves soon 🙂
This is my daily challenge, too. I just found a pair of jeans about a month ago (finally!) that work with my boots. That certainly makes dressing nicely a lot easier (it’s hard to dress up when the outfit ends with sneakers). Jim still gets “that mom” though because I change back into sweats whenever I’m home…it saves me from having to launder my nice pieces so often! Love you and love whatever you wear that makes you feel good about you!!!!!
Truth be told, I do that a lot too 🙂 But for the first time since I can remember, I’m actually comfortable in these jeans… comfy enough that I’m not desperate to get out of them the second I walk through the door. So at least 4 nights a week, I’m still “dressed” by the time he gets home. Love you back! Thanks for reading my ramblings 🙂
