Let me just start by saying that Ryder attends the most wonderful preschool ever, Lighthouse Christian Preschool. Â His teachers are clearly invested in every student, and we have felt nothing but love from them all year. Â They’ve hosted a Thanksgiving feast, a Christmas party, and a Superbowl party for dads (since school isn’t in session for Father’s Day), and today I was treated to the sweetest Mother’s Day Hoedown ever.
When I arrived, the kids were all sitting as quietly as little mice, listening to the teacher read a story. Â The girls had purple bandanas around their necks and the boys had neon green ones.
The tables were set with hay bails in the center (which held fun “s’mores on a stick” handmade by the kids), and each mom’s place had all kinds of goodies.
We got a huge mason jar full of “Cowboy Cookie” fixin’s,
and a fun marble necklace.
Then we were treated to a little theatrical entertainment including a Mother’s Day song and a square dance. Â I was cry-laughing. Â Totally hysterical! Â Next, we dined on chicken salad sandwiches, cheese, crackers, spinach dip, and fruit, and had cowboy boot cookies and coffee cake for dessert. Â Everything was served out of fun vintage-y tin muffin pans.
The teachers took photos of us with our kiddos in front of a lovely patchwork quilt… and then the sillies took over. Â I guess you could say it was the preschool version of a photo booth 🙂
Once again, Lighthouse went above and beyond to help make special memories with my biggest boy… the one who made me a mama for the first time… who apparently didn’t realize that he had chicken in his teeth before we took this picture. Â Oops!
Aww, I’m so glad you like Lighthouse. That is where Connor will be headed in the fall and I am excited for all of the adventure that awaits him…and apparently me too 🙂
