Three years ago, this very night, I looked like this…
My parents and mother-in-law were in town, and we celebrated Christmas a few days early. Â My dad did an amazing job entertaining Ryder while we checked in to the hospital bright and early the next morning.
We had a lovely team of nurses, and we listened intently to everything they had to say… see?
We knew this baby was going to be <ahem> on the larger side, so our doctor summed it up well when she pulled him out, held him up like Simba from The Lion King, and declared, “He’s a month old!”
Evan Jackson Barr was born around 8:40am on December 22, 2010 weighing a whopping 9lb. 14oz. (and he was a week early!).  We brought him home from the hospital on Christmas Eve, through lightly falling snow – one of my most precious Christmas memories of all time.  God blessed this boy with a compassionate older brother who (thankfully) never once asked us to take him back  🙂
Guess our apples didn’t fall too far from the tree, eh?
In last year’s birthday Facebook post, I described Evan as snuggly, smart, mischievous, high-climbing, and fiercely loved.  Today, he’s all those things and more, and we couldn’t feel more blessed to call him ours.  Happy third birthday (tomorrow), Evie J!
Love his little portrait at the end! Happy Birthday, Evan!
Love this little boy so much! What a blessing he is to everyone in his world. 🙂 Thanks be to God for this precious little one. 🙂
