A few of years ago, I attempted to start a blog. We were getting ready to move out of state, and I figured it would be a way to fill my family in on what was going on in our lives. After a bit of experimentation and a lot of frustration, I ended up succumbing to the ease and popularity of Facebook (which I still love!), and have a well-stocked photo album and video collection of our little guys for our family and friends to enjoy.
As the years passed, I’ve recommitted (over and over again) to returning to BlogLand and promised (myself) I’d be diligent with my posts. Well, we’ve all heard the saying, “Life is what happens when we’re busy making other plans.” In my world, “life happened” a lot. Between making babies (and losing a few), contracting and surviving strange tropical diseases (while pregnant!), moving cross-country (twice), and loving on my boys and my husband, I kinda lost myself.
I am a vastly different person than I used to be… and for someone who doesn’t really enjoy change (at first), that can be a bit scary. My tastes have changed (in more ways than one), my body has changed, my tolerances have changed, and even my goals are different now. Wait… that’s not true. My goals haven’t really changed (that much), but I’ve added a few, and the methods in which I will reach them have morphed.
I think I’m a good mom… a good wife… a good person in general. But there is always room for improvement. So I’ll be using this blog as a way to document my progress from where I am now to who I think I want to be when I grow up. The truth is, I wanna be more than just good. I want to be SUPER. SuperMom, SuperWife, SuperHomemaker, SuperChristFollower, SuperFriend… Just plain super. While I will fail more often that I’d like to admit, I sure am glad I’ve received the gifts of grace and forgiveness only Jesus Christ can give. Ultimately, as long as I’m where He wants me, I’m right where I need to be.
So feel free to come back and visit me! You may discover a new sewing or crafting tutorial, an incredibly interesting update on my crazy family, or a bit of mindless rambling. You might even find the perfect handmade accessory or jewelry item to purchase for your loved ones. I’d be tickled if you learned something new, or gained some encouragement or inspiration. In any case, I’m pulling up my bootstraps facing this life head-on. After all, I’ve only got one shot at it… might as well try to make it as SUPER as I can!
