About

A couple of years ago, I attempted to start a blog.  I knew we’d be moving out of state, and figured it would be a way to fill my family in on what was going on in our lives.  So after showing my techie husband the cute new blog I had set up, he reminded me that he’d built a beautiful website for us when we first got married that was supposed to be like a blog. (Oops!)  I had to break it to him that the reason I didn’t use it was because it wasn’t easy enough… and as wonderful as he is, he agreed to revamp our original site to make it easier for his non-techie wife to use.  He did that, and alas, it still wasn’t to my liking.  I ended up succumbing to the ease and popularity of Facebook (which I LOVE!), and have a well-stocked photo album and video collection of our little guy for our family and friends back home to enjoy. Ryan decided that since I wasn’t using his beautifully crafted website as our “go-to” blog, he would take it over and use it for his own activities. Fine by me!

Recently though, I’ve decided to resume blogging… this time (hopefully) for real.  My intent with this blog is to document my journey to “Super-ness”.  This could take on many forms: posting family updates, craft projects, venting, or any other random though that pops into my head.

A quick update for those of you who haven’t kept up with our lives via FB:

Over the last year and a half, I learned that I was expecting (for the fourth time… but this time was for keeps!), moved to Illinois (temporarily), survived West Nile Virus (at 32 weeks pregnant), gave birth to a beautiful little boy (Ryder Harrison), and survived my first “real” winter (rather unscathed if I do say so myself). Of course, there are lots of minute details that would really fill in the gaps, but that would take way more time and patience than I have to type.

Now, my baby boy is just weeks away from the big 0-1, and I’m just beginning to see some semblance of “me” returning to the world. I am different now, though. My tastes have changed (in more ways than one), my tolerances for certain things have changed, and even my goals are different now. Wait… that’s not true. My goals haven’t really changed, but I think the methods in which I will reach them have morphed a bit.

I think I’m a good mom… a good wife… a good person in general. But there is certainly room for improvement. So I’ll be using this blog as a way to document my progress from where I am now to June Cleaver. I know, I know… she wasn’t like that in real life. But this is MY life, and I can be like SuperJune if I wanna! :)

So keep your hands and arms inside the train at all times, folks… this here’s the wildest ride in the wilderness!
